Sleeping Model

Vivian is 7.6 pounds!!! (Or something close to that!)

We visited the doctor yesterday for her 1 month vaccines and checkup and she is doing splendidly. She did scream like a banshee this time when she got her shot but it only lasted a few seconds and then she returned to her happy/hungry self!

It is amazing to see our children grow so rapidly. Vivian is the first one to start to outgrow newborn clothing. She was born on September 14 at a whopping 4.4 pounds. She was also measured by something that made me laugh out loud called the 'INFANT-O-METER' which confirmed she has grown 5 cm since her birthday, or nearly 2 inches in length to be 20 inches long.

The reason we don't know with absolute certainty her current weight is that the scale was not working properly in the doctors office so they had Nana Loretta stand on the adult scale and then they handed her the baby to calculate the difference. Not exactly their most high-tech moment. The nurse wrote on the paper that she was 3.9kg which is over 8.5 pounds. I thought that seemed impossible so when we returned home, we got our the luggage scale we have with us and put her in her carrier and then subtracted the weight of just the carrier and we came to 7.6 pounds. So, that's what we've settled on for her current weight and that extra pound must belong to Nana. Suffice to say, she is growing!

We also used our Ergo baby carrier for the first time and Vivian was extremely happy nestled next to me. I will be using it for the trip home so it was good practice for both of us. I still need to learn how to maneuver the world while wearing her on my front. I think I achieved a very slight sense of what it must feel like being a pregnant woman walking around holding my precious cargo with one hand while carefully squatting to sit while marveling at an inability to see my own feet. Even still, all of that doesn't explain why today my breasts are sore! :-)

Separately, we took a visit to the mall last night to visit the MonnaLisa shop again as they promised they were to receive a new shipment of small sizes. And small sizes they had! I am SO screwed when these kids start picking their own items de cuteness!

Although Vivian was sound asleep, when we got home she was happy to model the cherry dresses that our girls will be wearing next summer sometime. (we got 9-12 months)

What do you think?
